I am Sanjoy Kumar Das as an artist from Chittagong, Bangladesh.

HOW DID THE COVID-19 BREAKDOWN AFFECT YOUR WORK AS AN ARTIST?

As an artist I feel the responsibility to capture my time according to the socio-economical context. So during this pandemic I capture how people around me are spending time.

HAS YOUR WAY OF THINKING/PRODUCING ART CHANGED? IN WHAT WAY?

Visual art has a power to make people understand the situation. In my painting people are spending time with their daily activities and emotion which will make us to think about future life styles.

ABOUT THE BITE

It is difficult to name the day when I first began painting, the imagery in my painting comes mostly from my personal experiences .The thematic world of mine is a blend of both reality and imagination. Information- generating devices super imposing even our private places a multiplicity of space- time matrices, disjoined and disquieting as they are for any individual, make an appearances. Informed by such a puzzling temporal- spatial reality to bring into a view the idea of simultaneity in relation to our lived experience in my own terms. In my paintings the pluralistic nature of reality using a hybrid language both like naturalism and personalized thinking method applying relationship with time, nature, society.

Now in present situation I feel everywhere is undisciplined of our lives of the whole world cause of corona virus (covid-19). Corona already spread in our society; people are fighting with every moment for covid 19. That’s why we try to maintain social distance always, keep hand, leg and body wash, keep safe, stay home, health treatment try to help our helpless people, keep the face mask(N95), donations, everywhere lockdown, haircut and other outside essential work are doing inside home with togetherness, take care of each other, online classes, online job work all subjects matter are multiple arrangement in my painting. My experimental processes combination with human and nature more importantly the human juxtaposed against various places, often in the context of overlapping static time, dynamic time and spaces of contemporary world. In my painting view connecting one dimension to another, using multiple layers of reality set of variable pairs such as examples with human activity, architecture, manmade objects, modern technologies such as computer, mobile and landscape, or the indoors and the outdoors etc. My compositional pattern some times as a design sometimes as a symbolized which built up own conceptual thinking processes its demand on subject matter and composition.
